Weaving School

A border at Loddington Grange

The purpose of the Weaving School is to have fun weaving with as much help as you need to build on your own ideas. We like to KIS it (Keep It Simple).  Tuition is relaxed and informal and no previous experience is necessary. Now in its third year, the next weaving course starts in April 2014 and will focus on rigid heddle an peg loom. Fee for the four days is £120 + materials.

New weavers can simply spend four glorious days weaving and take home their own finished rugs, bags, etc at the end of the course. There are no more than six students per course, and frequently two tutors. Weavers can choose to simply weave the wefts on pre-warped looms or complete their own projects from scratch.

The Weaving Room, Loddington
Refreshments, various teas, real coffee and home-made cake are complimentary.
Accommodation is available at Loddington Grange.

Places are offered on a first come first served basis and secured on payment of the fee in full at which point your loom is reserved and can be warped up and ready to go prior to the course if you wish. Alternatively you can learn how to do it yourself. The object is to have fun, without having to master the technical stuff first -  unless you want to. All materials are provided but weavers are welcome to bring their own if suitable.

The Weaving Room at Loddington Grange is equipped with new Ashford  4 shaft table looms together with rigid-heddle and small tapestry looms.
