Wrist Warmers by Ros....

example worked in handspun Alpaca and turquoise silk. These alpaca wristwarmers  took about 55 grams (2 ounces)
Size 4 mm needles,  this is best on a short circular needle, but can be worked on  straight double ended   needles,  Tension about 5 stitches to the inch,
Cast on 37 stitches.  Knit seven rows
Pattern:
Row 1
K2 tog, K1 *(YO, knit 1, YO,  K1, slip 1, K2 tog psso K 1) *  YO, knit 1, YO, K1, K 2 tog
Row 2   purl.
Work these two rows 8  times, ( if you want longer wrist warmers work more patterns 10 or 12)
Work thumb: Continue the 2  pattern rows but do  NOT  K2tog  at either end.   This increases one stitch at either end of every row 1.   When an extra seven stitches have been added at either end and row 2 of the pattern worked, leave the extra 7 stitches at either end on the needle  and continue to work the two  Pattern rows on the central 37 stitches.
Work the two pattern rows 10 times  more then row  1 once.
Knit six rows. Cast off.

Bring  the 7 stitches at either end of the needle together, join in yarn  and starting with a knit row  stocking stitch  6 rows (one row knit, one  row purl, 3 times)
Knit  5  rows. Cast off.
Join the side seam above the thumb. Join the side seam below the thumb and the side seam of the thumb.
Work second wristwarmer.
