SpinningSchool: One of the more quiet times at Fibre East

About Me

I'm a woman with a mission about long draw spinning: life's too short for anything less! It's fun, fast and very satisfying when you draw out an arm's length of thread rather than just a few inches.

Try it this month at Fibre East - Have a Go Zone. Or come to Summer School at Uppingham School in August. In September am a keynote speaker at The Big Textile Show this year. I teach spinning and weaving to individuals, run workshops, residential courses and visit groups and guilds.

I was taught by Elizabeth Palmer nearly 30 years ago and have been spreading the word ever since. I started the Guild of Long draw spinners in 2007 because no one seemed to know about long draw. I take genuine pleasure in other peoples' success and they say I am an inspirational teacher.

I live in Stoke Albany with my husband Bob; we keep hens and grow fruit and vegetables. I have three children, seven grandchildren and a horse called Nola. Besides my passion for all 'woolly things', I love horses and music and am a very happy and fulfilled person.
