Never without my Drop spindle

I can't imagine being without the means to spin - even on holiday so these drops spindles came up the River Nene with me too! I mainly used the top whorl one(pictured below with a hook holding the thread). I used it to spin some Wildfibres from the Threshing Barn - a mix of colour coordinated luxury fibre, tops and bits of ribbon, cord, feathers, paper flowers etc. Spinning such fibres is good on a drop spindle as there are no restricting orifice or hooks on which the bits and pieces can get caught.
